GET TO KNOW ME A LITTLE BETTER
Who is behind that computer or canvas? My name is Jasmine McCarton. I am originally from a small town in northeastern New Jersey, but my career and love for art has grown in Charlotte, North Carolina. This passion for all things creative has been a lifelong journey of mine, starting from drawing Power Puff Girls repeatedly as a child, to now bringing businesses’ brands to life with logos, flyers and other marketing tools that accurately represent them and their missions. When starting or operating a business, I am aware of how much time and attention needs to be applied to all aspects of it, usually leaving little left for design quality and flow, regardless of the owner’s artistic abilities.
That is where I come in.
In the beginning of my career, I wanted to further my knowledge in the art of digital photography and I took a class which introduced me to Adobe Photoshop. I soon realized two things: I was picking it up very quickly and how useful the combined skillset of graphic design and photography is for businesses. I now have 5+ years of experience using applications within Adobe Creative Suite to collaborate with all types of business owners and organizations to achieve aesthetically pleasing visual representation. I take pride in my attention to detail, which has been highlighted by all of my employers throughout life, and apply it to every project that comes my way. My adaptable work flow is suitable for any type of client whether I am tasked with bringing a planned-out sketch and color scheme of theirs to life, or starting from scratch and having complete freedom in design elements. I get a lot of joy out of interacting with people any way, but I especially love the collaborative process and those “Yes! That’s exactly what I was going for!” moments that I share with clients each time.
Although I specialize in digital media, I recognize the importance of expression as a creative, and I prefer to add my artistic style to anything that will allow me to whether it be on a canvas, piece of furniture, clothing, etc. I have found that creating art out of everyday items is especially useful in social media marketing and maintaining an online presence, something I love assisting businesses and organizations with. Now that you know a little more about me and my wide range of skills, let’s work together!
